Community Connect

Program Overview

To strengthen relationships between ATOD Development Corporation and the St. Louis community, foster active participation in local initiatives, and build a resilient network of support that enhances the well-being and self-sufficiency of individuals and families. This program will facilitate direct interaction, gather community insights, and empower residents to take ownership of local development.

Target Audience

  •  Primary: Residents of underserved neighborhoods in St. Louis, particularly those who may feel disconnected from community resources or decision-making processes.
  • Secondary: Local leaders, community organizations, faith-based groups, and businesses as key partners.
  • Internal: ATOD Development Corporation staff and volunteers, enhancing their ability to effectively engage with diverse community members.

Engagement Themes

  1. Direct Outreach & Relationship Building
  2. Collaborative Initiatives & Partnerships
  3. Digital Engagement & Communication

Delivery Method

  •  On-the-Ground Presence: Consistent physical presence in neighborhoods through pop-ups, canvassing, and community projects.
  • Community Venues: Utilizing accessible and trusted community spaces (churches, schools, community centers) for meetings and events.
  • Digital Platforms: Leveraging email, social media, and virtual meeting tools for broader communication and engagement.
  • Dedicated Engagement Team: A core team (staff and trained volunteers) responsible for planning, executing, and following up on all engagement activities.

Program Evaluation

Effective evaluation will ensure the program remains responsive and impactful.

  • Participation Metrics: Track attendance at events, number of households reached by canvassing, and engagement on social media.
  • Community Feedback: Conduct regular surveys during listening sessions and events to gauge satisfaction and perceived impact.
  • Partnership Growth: Monitor the number and depth of collaborations with other local organizations.
  • Qualitative Data: Collect stories and testimonials from community members and partners about how the program has positively affected their lives or the neighborhood.
  • Referral Tracking: Document how many individuals are referred to ATOD's other programs (workshops, skills training) as a result of engagement efforts.
  • Community Needs Assessment: Periodically re-assess stated community needs to ensure program relevance.
